What started as a campus work-study job became the first step in Jarrett Hart’s career journey. Jarrett began working part time for the McMurry University Office of Admissions during the latter half of his senior year. Upon graduating on May 13, he was hired as a full-time admissions counselor.
As a student, Jarrett was an active campus leader. He served several years as a Residence Assistant and an Orientation Leader. He also spent many years active in McMurry Student Government, serving as president his senior year. His involvement on campus helped strengthen his knowledge of McMurry, making him a perfect candidate to give campus tours and share his knowledge and experience with prospective students.
Jarrett realized his passion for higher education, and when he was encouraged to apply to be a full-time admissions counselor for McMurry University, he didn’t hesitate.
“It is a nice feeling to have the opportunity to work at my Alma Mater,” he said. “I am excited to grow my knowledge of higher education at McMurry. This is still the place I feel I need to be.”
A business administration major with a focus in marketing, Jarrett has learned to curate innovative ideas and use marketing tactics in his outreach and advocacy for McMurry University. He is excited to meet new people at college fairs and to share ideas and techniques for successful recruiting with peers in the higher education field. Jarrett’s McMurry education prepared him to successfully help prospective students learn more about and commit to attending McMurry University.
You don’t have to be an admissions counselor to inspire a successful future alumnus to attend McMurry! One of the greatest ways you can support McMurry is to contribute your time to recruiting future generations of students.
