Broc Baird, Assistant Professor of Design at McMurry University, has been invited to present at the esteemed Nineteenth International Conference on Design Principles & Practices. Hosted at LASALLE College of the Arts in Singapore from February 25 to February 27, 2025, the conference is renowned for its interdisciplinary exploration of design and innovation.
Broc’s workshop, titled “Narratives in Design: Teaching Students to Interpret and Craft Stories Through Visual Communication,” has been selected by the conference’s Review Committee. This session will delve into methods for integrating interpretive research and narrative-driven techniques into design education, empowering students to create visually impactful, culturally resonant stories.
“I am honored to be part of this conference and share approaches that help students connect more meaningfully to the world through design,” said Broc. “This is a chance to contribute to a global dialogue on design’s role in society, aiming to foster empathy, creativity, and thoughtful communication in the next generation of designers.”
The annual conference, founded in 2007, gathers academics and practitioners from across disciplines to discuss the evolving role of design in society. Broc’s participation highlights his commitment to advancing design education and McMurry University’s dedication to fostering innovation and creativity.
