What are Discovery Trips?
Discovery trips are a unique opportunity for McMurry University students to increase their awareness of career possibilities by visiting organizations and businesses, exploring various industries and careers, and engaging with professionals.
Join the Career & Experiential Learning Center on any of these Discovery Trips- local or non-local. Also, these trips are FREE OF CHARGE TO MCMURRY STUDENTS!!!!
On these trips, you have the ability to: tour facilities, learn about different careers in an industry, ask questions, and connect professionally with the organizations we visit regarding internships, job opportunities, and experiences.
McMurry students can participate at any time, but we recommend you take trips during your sophomore year so you gain to have a clearer picture of routes and paths you are interested in.

4/9 Workshop: Leveling up your career game - How to show/describe your experience and skills
Level up your career game! Join us at the Career Workshop for College Students and master the art of showcasing your academic and professional journey. Learn how to turn your experiences into compelling stories that impress employers through your resume, cover letters, interviews, and LinkedIn page! Especially with the Student Symposium happening later this month – come hear how to translate that experience to show you have what it takes regarding that job, internship, or opportunity you’re interested in! Your future success starts with the right words!

4/12 -13 Discovery Trip: Dallas Symphony Orchestra
The main portion of the trip would be an evening at the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. Along with that, we will also line up some other events (possible behind-the-scenes DSO careers presentation, a visit with a local music minister, an in-depth tour of a large music store in the DFW area, an event with alumni that hold various jobs in the music industry, etc.). These other events will be decided at a later date as the trip is formalized.
The trip is FULLY FUNDED by the university. This means your travel, hotel, admission tickets, meals, etc. will be covered by McMurry.
