Israel Robledo is a dedicated educator with over 28 years of experience at the elementary level, specializing in special education and reading intervention programs. Since 1995, he has served as an elementary teacher with the Midland Independent School District in Midland, Texas, where he has taught across second through sixth grades, Reading Recovery, and specialized intervention programs. Before his teaching career, Israel worked as a Case Worker for the Texas Department of Human Services (1988–1995), managing programs such as Income Assistance, Community Care for the Aged and Disabled, In-Home and Family Support, and Medicaid services. He also served as Youth Minister at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Abilene, Texas (1987–1988). He earned a B.B.A. in Finance from McMurry College in 1987.

Diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2007 at age 42, Israel quickly became an advocate for the Parkinson’s community, focusing on increasing clinical trial participation and addressing health-related quality of life issues for people living with Parkinson’s. He is a member of the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research Patient Council and serves on the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs (Parkinson’s Research Program) Integration Panel. Additionally, he is a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Parkinson’s Disease and serves in an advisory role to several pharmaceutical companies.

Israel has also contributed his expertise to organizations including the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation, the World Parkinson Congress, and the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute.
