
McMurry University has named Spencer Conroy as Chief Financial Officer, reinforcing the university’s commitment to strong financial stewardship and long-term sustainability.
Conroy brings nearly two decades of experience in higher education finance and has already made a significant impact at McMurry. Since joining the university as interim CFO, he has led key initiatives to strengthen financial operations, including rebuilding finance teams, modernizing budgeting and reporting systems, and restoring the timely production of audited financial statements.
“Spencer has demonstrated thoughtful leadership during an important chapter in McMurry’s history,” said Dr. Lynne Murray, President of McMurry University. “His work reflects the values that guide our university—integrity, accountability, and a deep commitment to ensuring that our financial stewardship supports the success and experience of our students.”
Before joining McMurry, Conroy served as Vice President of Finance and Business Affairs at the University of St. Thomas in Houston and held leadership roles at Saint Joseph’s College. He earned an MBA from Saint Joseph’s College and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Taylor University.
As Chief Financial Officer, Conroy will continue to collaborate with university leadership to steward McMurry’s resources in ways that advance its mission of preparing graduates for lives of leadership, service, and faith.
