Dr. Frank Badua earned his Ph.D. and MBA from Rutgers University in New Jersey. Before entering academia, he held positions in the tax compliance and financial accounting departments at Merrill Lynch and the New York Daily News.
He has taught various accounting courses at undergraduate and master’s levels, with recent specialization in accounting systems, auditing, cost accounting, and financial accounting. His peer-reviewed research spans numerous areas, including accounting information systems, audit and assurance, accounting pedagogy, accounting history, corporate governance, cost accounting, forensic accounting, and sustainability accounting.
Beyond the classroom, Dr. Badua is dedicated to service. He volunteers with the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program each tax season, preparing tax returns for elderly and low-income taxpayers. He also holds professional credentials as a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and Certified Internal Auditor (CIA).
