Patricia Lapoint

Dr. Patricia A. LaPoint, Ph.D., is a Professor of Management at McMurry University’s Walter F. and Virginia Johnson School of Business in Abilene, Texas, where she has served for 37 years. Before her academic career, she held management positions with Procter & Gamble and Hewlett-Packard and owned and managed a small family business. In addition, she periodically engages with organizations through her consulting practice.

Dr. LaPoint is an active member of several professional associations, including the Association for Supply Chain Management (ASCM), the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), the Project Management Institute (PMI), and the Southwest Academy of Management (SWAM). She has also earned a Certificate in Risk Management through ASCM and the People Management Qualification (PMQ) through SHRM.

Her research has been published in a variety of scholarly journals, including the Journal of Organizational Culture, International Journal of Case Studies, Journal of Higher Education Theory and Practice, Journal of Organizational Psychology, Journal of Quality Management, Journal of Business and Economics, and the Academy for Economics and Economics Education.
