McMurry’s Pre-Engineering program provides a strong foundation in mathematics, physics, and engineering needed for advanced study and engineering careers. You’ll learn from accomplished faculty, gain hands-on research experience, and compete for endowed scholarships.
Through McMurry’s partnership with the University of North Dakota, eligible students can complete a 5-year dual-degree program, earning a B.S. in Engineering Physics or a B.A. in Chemistry from McMurry and an ABET-accredited B.S. in Engineering from UND.
What You Can Earn
Bachelor of Science in Engineering Physics
Engineering Physics is a hands-on discipline that bridges theoretical science and practical engineering to solve real-world challenges. You’ll build a strong foundation in physics, mathematics, and engineering, preparing you for graduate study or careers in mechanical, civil, industrial, electrical, and other engineering fields.
Dual Bachelor of Science Degrees
Earn your B.S. degree at McMurry and a B.S. in engineering from the University of North Dakota. This 5-year, dual-degree program is open to eligible McMurry students pursuing the engineering physics degree or a B.A. in chemistry.
Minor in Physics
A Physics minor strengthens your understanding of physics and mathematics while sharpening your analytical and problem-solving skills. It pairs well with majors across STEM and can broaden your career and graduate school opportunities.
You’ll graduate with the mathematics, physics and engineering knowledge required to pursue an advanced engineering degree – and a career – in mechanical, civil, or electrical engineering as a practitioner or in academia.
