Class 2029

McMurry University is proud to announce its third consecutive year of record enrollment, with a total headcount of 4,144 students—representing a remarkable 30% increase over last year. Total new student enrollment rose 4% over last year, and the 2025 freshman class once again ranks among the largest in University history. These gains were further strengthened by an 18% increase in new full-time transfer students. Together, this growth underscores McMurry’s rising momentum, as more students are drawn to its high-impact academic experiences and vibrant, supportive campus community.

McMurry’s reach continues to expand through its Dual Credit Academy (DCA), launched in 2022 to give high school students an affordable head start on college. DCA enrollment grew by over 50% from last year to this year, with over 2,900 students from over 216 partner high schools across the state participating. The program now offers over 20 college-level courses, a scholarship to McMurry, and pathways for students to earn college credit or even an associate’s degree before finishing high school.

Our historic enrollment is a very clear message that more and more students, and their parents, recognize the value of a degree from McMurry University,” University President Dr. Lynne Murray said. “They understand that we are equipping them with the necessary skills to succeed in their careers and make significant contributions as citizens in our society. This growth allows us to further expand our programs and strengthen our community. We are so proud of the faculty and staff members who worked hard to bring these students to our doors and to demonstrate to them how their lives will be enriched by the experiences they gain here.”

“Our partnerships with school districts across the state are helping drive McMurry’s success,” Vice President for Enrollment Management and Chief Operations Officer Dr. Grant Greenwood said. “By streamlining the path to college, we’re not only making higher education more accessible but also helping students see their future as possible and within reach. Many of our Dual Credit students have elected to continue their studies as incoming new students, strengthening our dual credit and residential enrollment.

Later this month, the McMurry community will celebrate another historic milestone: the inauguration of Dr. Lynne Murray as the University’s 11th President. The ceremony will take place on Friday, September 26, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. in Radford Auditorium.
