The U.S. Department of Education has once again selected McMurry University to receive federal funding to support its TRIO Student Support Services program that increases student success and expands access to higher education.

The renewed funding, totaling $272,364, ensures the continuation of McMurry’s longstanding efforts to support students who are often the first in their families to attend college, are low-income, or have a disability. The grant provides critical resources to help eligible students persist in their studies and achieve their academic goals through academic tutoring, academic advising/coaching, assistance with applying for financial aid and searching for scholarships, financial literacy, and help with graduate school enrollment.

“We are proud to be entrusted with this competitive funding,” said McMurry University President Lynne Murray. “It reflects the strength of our programs and the University’s longstanding commitment to empowering students to succeed—no matter their starting point.”

This award reaffirms McMurry’s position as a trusted partner in advancing student achievement and reflects the University’s consistent record of delivering results through targeted support initiatives.

This continuation of funding is both a recognition of McMurry’s proven results and a critical investment in the institution’s mission to prepare students for lives of leadership, service, and professional success.
