Shaun Martin joined Atmos Energy in 2014 as the Manager of Public Affairs after previously serving as the Executive Director for Junior Achievement of Abilene for 3 years and serving in numerous capacities for 10 years with Hendrick Health System prior.
Shaun is one of many Atmos Energy employees who serve as key figures within the region. In his current capacity, he develops working relationships with municipal and state elected officials and their staff, as well as business and community leaders, in order to promote the company’s public image, products and services. He assists and counsels in regulatory filings, legislative support, public policy/affairs, and media relations. Shaun also provides operational support in emergency situations and operational activities. Finally, Shaun assists corporate communications in developing, implementing, and monitoring communication strategies for corporate initiatives, media relations and messaging initiatives that impact the division, its employees and/or customers.

He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Psychology (Summa Cum Laude) from McMurry University in Abilene followed by a Master of Science (Summa Cum Laude) from Texas Tech University in Lubbock. Shaun was named McMurry University’s Distinguished Young Alumnus and The Leadership Abilene Alumni award in 2020. Additionally, he was selected as one of Abilene’s Top 20 Under 40 in Business in 2009.
He and his wife of 20 yrs., Karen, his 16 yr. old son Cash and 12 yr. old daughter Dylan, enjoy spending time outdoors riding horses, playing baseball/softball, camping, hunting & fishing, and golf.
