About the Program
Are you a curious student who thinks outside the box and wants to take your college education as far as possible? If so, the McMurry Honors Program is for you. We offer Honors classes that emphasize creativity, critical thinking, and discussion. During the senior year, students dig into a research topic or a creative project in their major fields for their Honors thesis. Our students work closely with their professors on research teams, travel courses, and other endeavors that broaden their horizons and prepare them for life after graduation. Honors alums have gone on to great success in their careers, including gaining admission to highly selective professional schools in Texas and across the US.
The Honors Program makes college more interesting, not impossibly hard. Many Honors students participate in intercollegiate athletics, fine arts programs, student government, and other clubs and organizations throughout their four years at McMurry. The Honors endowment often makes it possible for our students to participate in study abroad programs and other enriching opportunities.
