Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges

McMurry University holds accreditation from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award associate, bachelor’s, and master’s degrees. The University may also offer approved credentials such as certificates and diplomas.

The undergraduate nursing program has full approval from the Texas Board of Nursing. Graduates are eligible to take the NCLEX-RN, the national examination for registered nurses.

NC-SARA and Professional Licensure Disclosure

State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement

Approved NC-SARA Participant

McMurry University is approved to participate in the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements. SARA expands access to online courses across state lines while maintaining state regulatory oversight.

Licensure or Certification of Professional Programs

Federal regulations require universities to disclose whether programs leading to professional licensure or certification meet the educational requirements in each state, do not meet those requirements or have not yet been evaluated against those requirements.

 

Within Texas

McMurry designs its professional program curricula to meet Texas accreditation and licensure or certification requirements. These programs prepare students to apply for the appropriate Texas examination.

Outside Texas

McMurry cannot determine certification eligibility or completion requirements for states outside Texas. Requirements vary by state, and no centralized listing covers every program.

Students seeking licensure outside Texas should:

  • Accounting: Contact the board of accountancy in your state.
  • Education: Review your state department of education website.
  • Nursing: Contact your state board of nursing.
