Biography
Deena Duarte is a Senior Implementation Specialist with Waterford.org, where she has supported education partners nationwide since 2010. In her role, she strives to help educators feel comfortable and confident using new teaching tools and integrating technology into daily classroom routines. Deena is passionate about simplifying processes for educators and administrators while empowering families—especially newcomer families and those with English learner students.
A 1999 graduate of McMurry University, Deena earned a B.A. in Communication and Spanish. She began her career teaching 4th and 5th grades in Houston ISD, Round Rock ISD, and Lago Vista ISD. Her experience spans all grade levels, including Life Skills and Exceptional Needs classrooms, where she has focused on adapting technology to meet the diverse learning needs and styles of students.
In addition to her work with Waterford.org, Deena also consults for other education-focused organizations, including Learning.com and ParentGuidance.org.
Deena lives in Houston, Texas, with her fiancé, Steve, and their two dogs. She enjoys returning to West Texas often to visit family.
