McMurry University and Cisco College are pleased to announce a new partnership that allows McMurry undergraduate students to concurrently enroll in one of Cisco College’s surgical technology, respiratory therapy, or pharmacy technician programs, while pursuing an undergraduate degree at McMurry. This collaboration gives students the unique opportunity to earn both an associate’s degree from Cisco College and a Bachelor of Science degree in human health science from McMurry University.

“We are excited to partner with Cisco College to offer students the ability to pursue two valuable degrees simultaneously,” said Dr. Cindy Martin, interim vice president for academic affairs at McMurry University. “By combining the strengths of both institutions, we can offer an innovative and comprehensive academic experience that prepares students for the workforce. I want to thank Brooke Yarbrough, department chair of McMurry’s Human Health Sciences Department, for the leadership she provided on behalf of McMurry University toward this collaborative effort with Cisco College.”

The collaboration offers students the best of both worlds—access to McMurry’s vibrant campus life and extensive student support services, including academic and career counseling, along with hands-on training and professional development at Cisco College. This combination ensures a well-rounded educational experience with continuous support, setting students up for success in the classroom and in their future careers.

“The specialized programs we offer at Cisco College equip students with the technical skills and credentials necessary for high-demand healthcare careers,” said Vice President of Instruction at Cisco College Heather McClure. ” This partnership will provide students with a streamlined pathway to graduate not only with a specialized healthcare career but also a broader liberal arts education, significantly enhancing their marketability to employers.”

Under the agreement, McMurry students in good standing will be eligible to apply to one of Cisco College’s specialty programs during their sophomore year, after completing any required prerequisite coursework. The partnership ensures a seamless transfer of credits between the two institutions. Students will be considered McMurry undergraduates during their completion of Cisco College courses and will not be required to transfer to Cisco College to finish the program. This flexible arrangement allows students to complete their studies without transferring between institutions, and course agreements will ensure students receive the necessary academic support as they complete their studies.
