BlueStreak Program

The BlueStreak Program helps active-duty Air Force members complete the General Education Courses required for a Community College of the Air Force degree. Students may also apply eligible coursework toward a four-year undergraduate degree at McMurry University or another institution.

Through BlueStreak, active-duty Air Force members can take select McMurry University courses at Dyess Air Force Base, on the McMurry campus, or online. Courses are offered in an accelerated eight-week format, with five to seven options typically available each fall and spring semester. Select courses may also be available during summer terms.

Who This Program Is For

The McMurry-Dyess Air Force Base Program is designed for active-duty Air Force members who need flexible course options while completing CCAF general education requirements or working toward a future bachelor’s degree.

  • Active-duty Air Force members completing CCAF general education requirements.
  • Air Force members planning to apply eligible coursework toward a bachelor’s degree.
  • Students who need on-base, campus, or online course options.
  • Students seeking an accelerated eight-week course format.

BlueStreak and Transfer Admission

Students enrolling only in selected BlueStreak courses for CCAF-related requirements may apply as non-degree students. This allows them to enroll in BlueStreak courses without submitting school transcripts or test scores typically required for degree-seeking admission.

Students who plan to complete a McMurry bachelor’s degree should follow the transfer admission process and submit official college transcripts.

For additional details, visit the McMurry University catalog page for the BlueStreak Program.

Program Offerings

The BlueStreak Program is designed with the needs of active-duty Air Force members in mind. Select courses are offered on base during evening hours, while additional courses are available on the McMurry University campus throughout the day. Online course options are also available.

For added convenience, registration is held regularly on base. Students are also encouraged to take advantage of McMurry’s campus services, facilities, and activities.

Courses offered on base typically include general education requirements that support the first years of a four-year degree plan. These courses may also fulfill academic requirements for the Community College of the Air Force associate degree. Regular offerings include communication, humanities, social science, and mathematics, with management courses available on occasion. Students may also select from a variety of courses to complete CCAF Program Electives.

In recognition of more than 60 years of partnership with the Air Force, McMurry University offers courses for active-duty Air Force members at the current Tuition Assistance rate of $250 per credit hour. Tuition Assistance does not cover the cost of books or supplies.

McMurry University offers active-duty Air Force members multiple pathways to continue their education while stationed at Dyess Air Force Base. Students who plan to complete a bachelor’s degree may begin working toward a McMurry degree while pursuing, or after completing, a Community College of the Air Force associate degree.

To begin the admission process, active-duty Air Force members should apply online and submit official transcripts from each college or university attended after high school.

Students may request official Community College of the Air Force or Air University transcripts through the Air University transcript request process. Air University provides transcript ordering through Parchment.

Official transcripts should be sent directly to McMurry University as part of the transfer admission process.

Once admitted, and after an audited McMurry degree plan has been completed and added to the student’s Education Goal and Record, Tuition Assistance may be applied to eligible courses. Courses may be taken on campus, on base, or online. Tuition Assistance does not cover the cost of books or supplies.
