Residence Life

Living on campus places you at the center of the McMurry experience. Most students are required to live on campus, where Residence Life fosters supportive living-learning communities grounded in friendship, cooperation, faith, and education.

McMurry offers several housing options, including Gold Star Hall (co-ed by floor), Martin Hall (for females), and Hunt Hall (for males). Upper-level students who meet credit hour and GPA requirements may apply for on-campus apartments. All housing includes wireless and high-speed internet access.

Living on campus encourages meaningful connections, personal growth, and lasting friendships that define the McMurry community.

Off-Campus Living Eligibility

Students may live off campus if they meet one or more of the following:

  • Completed four long semesters on campus

  • Earned at least 60 McMurry credit hours

  • Are 21 years of age or older

  • Will live with parents or legal guardians within 30 miles of campus

  • Married or getting married

Housing Deposit and Application Process

Once you have been accepted to McMurry University and paid your enrollment deposit, you will receive your McMurry login credentials via email. If you do not receive the email, please contact your Admission Counselor. The $250 deposit made during the admission process is composed of $150 enrollment deposit and a $100 housing deposit.

Once we have received your housing application, the next step in the process is to have your lease processed by the Office of Residence Life and Housing. Room assignments will be sent to your McMurry email as they are processed, typically beginning in late Spring.

Bacterial Meningitis Vaccine

Required by state law effective January 1, 2010, as stated: A first-time student attending an institution of higher education or private or independent institution of higher education, including a transfer student, who plans to reside in on-campus housing in an on-campus dormitory or other on-campus student housing facility must show evidence of vaccination against bacterial meningitis. The student must have received the vaccination at least 10 days prior to the student taking up residence in on-campus housing.
