McMurry Student and Library Assistant Receives Ricki Brown Award

Michelle Ramirez

Congratulations to Michelle Ramirez, a TRIO student, first-generation college student, and Acquisitions Assistant for the Jay-Rollins Library at McMurry University. Michelle has been named the 2025 recipient of the Ricki Brown Award by the Abilene Friends of the Public Library.

Graduating in December 2025, Michelle is the first McMurry student and the first non-librarian to receive this prestigious honor. We are incredibly proud of her accomplishments and the example she sets for fellow War Hawks.
