What are Discovery Trips?
Discovery trips are a unique opportunity for McMurry University students to increase their awareness of career possibilities by visiting organizations and businesses, exploring various industries and careers, and engaging with professionals.
Join the Career & Experiential Learning Center on any of these Discovery Trips- local or non-local. Also, these trips are FREE OF CHARGE TO MCMURRY STUDENTS!!!!
On these trips, you have the ability to: tour facilities, learn about different careers in an industry, ask questions, and connect professionally with the organizations we visit regarding internships, job opportunities, and experiences.
McMurry students can participate at any time, but we recommend you take trips during your sophomore year so you gain to have a clearer picture of routes and paths you are interested in.

15 | Networking 101
Most jobs are not filled by online resume databases or community boards. 70% of all jobs are obtained through people you know. In this workshop, we will discuss the basics of networking and provide you with strategies to decrease anxiety and increase success.
Start working on the skills you need to begin building your network!

Fraud, Money, Fun, Oh My!
Come visit DFW to learn about the dynamic career field of fraud investigation and explore the Bureau of Engraving and Printing. Don’t miss your chance to learn information about an industry of professionals with a diverse set of skills in preventing, detecting, and investigating fraud.
Cost: FREE! (includes transportation, admission, meals, and hotel)

The Professional Exploration Summit is a unique opportunity for McMurry University students to develop career confidence & build the highly valued career readiness skills that will prepare you for the next steps on your career path.
This FREE event includes: Catered Lunch, Motivational Keynote Speaker, Breakout sessions, and door prizes!
This event is designed to inspire you to think about what you want to accomplish while at McMurry & after graduation. It is never too early to begin to plan the future you want!

At our event, you’ll have the opportunity to connect with a variety of local non-profit organizations dedicated to causes like social justice, environmental sustainability, public health, and more. These organizations are looking for enthusiastic individuals like you to join them and make a difference.
If you’re a student at Abilene Christian University, Hardin Simmons University, or McMurry University and you’re a sophomore, junior, or senior from any major, we encourage you to register for this event.
