Peer-Assisted Learning

PAL connects students with peer-assisted academic support designed to strengthen understanding, build confidence, and help students succeed in challenging courses.

How PAL Supports Students

McMurry Writing Center
Students receive support throughout the writing process, including brainstorming, drafting, revising, and working with sources.

The Hub
The Hub provides peer-to-peer academic support primarily for STEM and Business courses. Peer tutors work with students individually and in groups to help them understand and master course material.

The Hub also provides professional tutoring for upper-level mathematics, physics, and select kinesiology courses.

Supplemental Instruction
Supplemental Instruction provides peer-led academic support for historically challenging courses. SI leaders are students who previously excelled in the course and work with current students through active learning, collaborative sessions, and office hours in the Hub.
