S3C Students

Services

Tutoring provides peer-to-peer support, where a student with a strong understanding of course content helps fellow students master the material. Tutoring is available in one-on-one and group settings; no appointment is needed to work with S3C peer tutors. In addition, some faculty members hold tutoring sessions in the S3C—check this semester’s tutor schedule for details.

The S3C also offers professional tutoring for upper-level math, physics, and select kinesiology courses. While walk-ins are welcome, we strongly recommend booking an appointment to secure your spot.

When you arrive, look for tutors with a name plate on the table or raise the flag to signal that you’d like help. If you don’t see a tutor available, visit the front desk near the back of the center, and our staff will connect you with the tutor on duty.

Peer Tutor Schedule Professional Tutor Schedule

Supplemental Instruction (SI) provides peer-led support for historically challenging courses. SI sessions are led by near peers—students who previously excelled in the course and now attend the current semester’s class alongside you. Sessions are designed to help you engage more deeply with the material through active learning and collaboration.

In addition, SI leaders hold office hours in the S3C. Depending on your needs, these hours may feel like small-group sessions or resemble traditional tutoring. Check out this semester’s full SI schedule to find times that work for you.

Getting started is easy—attend a scheduled session or stop by during office hours. If you’re unsure who the SI leader is, ask any S3C staff member for an introduction, and the leader will take it from there.
