What’s more, during your career you may be tasked with relaunching a dormant program, growing an established one or starting a theatre program from scratch. At McMurry, our unique theatre company approach equips you with the tools to manage a high school program and excel anywhere in your journey. Your studies will wrap in a capstone project in theatre.  

What You Can Earn

Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Arts Education

You’ll complete at least 120 credit hours, not including Academic Advantage courses. At least 39 hours will be at an advanced level. This degree requires a minor. Choose curriculum and instruction if you’re pursuing teacher certification or a minor in any other field of interest.

Minor in Curriculum and Instruction required

Bachelor of Arts in Theatre

Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre

Careers

Theatre arts education graduates work in a variety of settings, including as teachers in early childhood through high school classrooms, in special-education settings, in religious and cultural institutions, and in affiliations with professional theatre companies. Your Bachelor of Arts in theatre arts education from McMurry also prepares you with certifications to teach diverse theatre-focused classes and initiate and reignite theatre programs, and it positions you to excel in further graduate study.
